The manga was adapted into an anime series by studio ufotable, known for its high-quality animation and visual effects. What happened in season 2?

The second season of Demon Slayer followed the Mugen Train arc from the manga, which spanned chapters 54 to 69. In this arc, Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who became a demon slayer after his family was killed by demons, and his sister Nezuko Kamado, who was turned into a demon but retained her human emotions, joined forces with two other demon slayers: Zenitsu Agatsuma, a cowardly but talented swordsman who can unleash powerful lightning attacks when asleep; and Inosuke Hashibira, a wild and aggressive fighter who wears a boar mask and wields two serrated blades. Together, they boarded a train to assist one of the Hashira (the elite demon slayers), Kyojuro Rengoku, a cheerful and passionate warrior who mastered the Flame Breathing technique.

However, they soon discovered that the train was infested by demons under the command of Enmu, one of the Lower Ranks of Muzan Kibutsuji's Twelve Kizuki (the strongest demons under his control). Enmu used his Blood Demon Art to put everyone on board into a deep sleep and manipulate their dreams. He also planted his blood into some passengers to turn them into his minions. Tanjiro and his friends managed to overcome Enmu's traps and wake up from their dreams. They also learned more about their pasts and motivations through their dreams. Tanjiro dreamed of his family, who encouraged him to keep fighting. Zenitsu dreamed of Nezuko, whom he had a crush on. Inosuke dreamed of being the leader of a pack of animals. Rengoku dreamed of his father, who was a former Hashira but had lost his will to live.

Demon Slayer season 3 episode

After a fierce battle, Tanjiro and Rengoku managed to decapitate Enmu, but he revealed that he had fused his head with the train. He then tried to crash the train and kill everyone on board, but Tanjiro and his friends managed to stop him with the help of the other passengers. However, as they celebrated their victory, they were confronted by another enemy: Akaza, one of the Upper Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki. Akaza challenged Rengoku to a duel, as he sensed his strong flame aura. Rengoku accepted the challenge, and told Tanjiro and the others to escape.

Akaza and Rengoku fought with incredible speed and power, exchanging blows that shook the ground. Akaza used his Destructive Death technique, which allowed him to manipulate his flesh and blood into deadly weapons. Rengoku used his Flame Breathing technique, which created flames that could burn anything. The two warriors were evenly matched, but Akaza had an advantage: he could regenerate from any wound, while Rengoku could not. Akaza also tried to persuade Rengoku to join him as a demon, but Rengoku refused, saying that he would never betray his humanity or his duty as a Hashira.

The fight reached its climax when Akaza delivered a fatal blow to Rengoku's chest, piercing his heart. However, Rengoku did not give up, and held Akaza in place with his arm. He then used his last breath to tell Tanjiro to inherit his will and continue his mission to defeat Muzan and the Twelve Kizuki. He also told him to find his younger brother Senjuro, who was also a potential Hashira candidate. He then died with a smile on his face, leaving Tanjiro and the others in tears. Akaza tried to escape, but was stopped by the arrival of the sun, which could kill demons. He was forced to retreat, but vowed to kill Tanjiro and the others in the future.

What to expect from season 3?

The third season of Demon Slayer will follow the Swordsmith Village arc from the manga, which spanned chapters 70 to 99. In this arc, Tanjiro and his friends will travel to the hidden village where the swords for the demon slayers are forged. There, they will meet new allies and enemies, as well as learn more about their swords and breathing techniques. They will also face a new threat: Kokushibo, another Upper Rank of the Twelve Kizuki, who has a mysterious connection to the history of the demon slayers.

Summary of episode 1

Tanjiro and Nezuko arrive at the Swordsmith Village

The first episode of season 3 begins with a flashback of Tanjiro's childhood, when he was taught by his father how to use the Dance of the Fire God technique, a secret breathing technique passed down in their family. Tanjiro's father also told him about the Hinokami Kagura, a ritual dance that honored the sun god Hinokami. Tanjiro wondered why his father knew so much about these things, but his father did not answer.

The scene then shifts to the present, where Tanjiro and Nezuko are traveling on a cart driven by an old woman named Sumi. Sumi is one of the survivors of the Mugen Train incident, who offered to take them to the Swordsmith Village after hearing that their swords were broken. Tanjiro is still grieving over Rengoku's death, and vows to honor his memory by becoming stronger. He also wonders about Akaza's words, which implied that there was a way for demons to become human again.

As they approach the village, they are greeted by Hotaru Haganezuka, the swordsmith who made Tanjiro's sword. Hotaru is furious at Tanjiro for breaking his sword twice, and tries to attack him with a hatchet. However, he is stopped by Sumi, who scolds him for
